Permanent Activity

Public Art Installation

2019

In a satirical intervention with the remains of the tetherball pole of Dufferin Grove park in Toronto, I fabricated a concrete tetherball for the exsiting pole with a aircraft cable attachment to represent the absence of actual functioning tetherball that is made for that space and activity. Its constant usage and lack of maintenance was what connected me to intervene with this space, as once being part of the park's surrounding community. In pettiness, i want to create a tetherball where the usage is none, and the space is maintained, so it stays as a memorial for that space and my attachment to it being there.
